What Can I Do With My 11 Year Old Akita Dog?

I have five dogs in my house. Three are Akitas. One of the akitas is a female an is in heat. I have my three akitas separated, they dont see each other. All my dogs behave great except the old Akita. I leave him in the yard during the day he starts whining or howling. If I bring him inside the house, to my room he opens the doors! I walk him 30 minutes a day, and dont know what else to do. Please help!

He’s whining and howling because he can smell your bit*ch who is in season. Perfectly normal for an entire dog.

    Sounds as if your old boy is bored. You probably need to spend more time with him than just 30 minutes a day. With 5 dogs in the house I can’t see you devoting much time to individual dogs. Your 11year old Akita is in the twilight of his life. Try to find time for him in the time he has left.

    How she open the door?! Is it cool outside? maybe just put her on a long rope and make sure she doesn’t get tangled get her a dog house and some water put her outside for the day. And at night investigate getting a crate.Put a flat dog bed in it. and make sure it is escape proof.
