i recently watched hachiko the movie of a red akita with a white mask who is extremely faithful to his owned… i have decided to buy myself one with the same colors and features. Where can i buy a liht red akita with a white facial mask (puppy)…. and how rare are they?

    You do not base a decision like that off of a movie – PERIOD. Movies contain actors, yes? Ever think that the DOG was an "actor" and was trained to do what was done in the movie?

    Akita Inu (Akita) are not the best dogs for novice owners. They are high energy, high drive, high intelligence, and VERY dominant. They are difficult to train, difficult to socialize, and are naturally territorial/aggressive. Yes, they can be very loyal – but it takes skill and know-how to make sure that loyalty doesn’t turn into possessive aggression and result in an unstable animal.

    You need to do some actual research. Not all Akita are the same temperament wise. Also highly likely (most likely) that this animal was professionally trained. You may not end up with a dog even remotely similar to the one in the movie.
